Hiya girlie,
So you want to change your life.
But wait…hold up.
How are you planning to do that? Because here’s the thing:
You have more things to consider here because changing your life will take more than placing a checkmark beside a single task on your to do list or reaching a single moment of clarity.
Life transformation does not happen overnight. Its a quiet, continuous process of letting go so you can
make room for what’s next.
Letting go of what’s not working in your life- be it unhealthy habits, relationships, or limiting beliefs and making room for moments of fun, freedom, and trying new things.
You can’t just sit around waiting for the perfect time, always telling yourself that “I’ll start tomorrow”. NO. It doesn’t work like that.
You can’t wait for circumstances to be “Just Right”.
Change requires actionable steps, and the best time to start is now.
Now, as in today.
“The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude”. Oprah Winfrey
We all have our hamster on a wheel moment where we feel stuck in a never ending cycle, running but never actually getting anywhere or making real progress.
But here’s the thing: you can take the wheel back.
The truth is we all crave joy, love and inner peace which is the formula for changing your life for the better.
I must also say that changing your life does not have to be drastic like quitting your job tomorrow or moving to a new City.
Although that would be nice 🙂
It’s about making small and SMART intentional shifts overtime by starting with micro habits to create the life that you desire.
I’ve learned this new year that when you start with baby steps- everyday compounds into significant change.
While micro habits are small steps, when you are consistent it is definitely possible to implement healthy habits to create your best life.
In this post, we will explore steps to change your life, shift your mindset and ways to take control of your life.
If you’re ready to start over and make 2025 your best year, Let’s jump straight to the post!
This post is all about micro habits to change your life
Change Your Life
What Are Micro Habits?
Micro habits are tiny and manageable action steps or behaviors that can be done in less than five minutes to significantly improve your life.
Why Do Micro Habits Work?
So I really started getting into micro habits after reading “Atomic Habits” by best selling author James Clear. In his book he explains that tiny habits helps us to get 1% better every day which leads to transformative results over time.
I can honestly say that starting with only five minutes of reading each day or just one page when I’m feeling lazy has really helped me to not only stay committed but made it easy for me to read the first three chapters in his book.
This is the power of micro habits. They work because they are so small you cannot talk yourself out of them.
Yes, they still require willingness and small consistent steps on your part but once you get started they take little willpower and overtime they naturally fit into your routine and become part of your identity.
How To Incorporate Micro Habits To Change Your Life
Transforming and implementing change in our lives is not as hard as we think.
Micro habits have taught us that we can change our lives effortlessly with the right mindset and intentional steps each day.
By incorporating habits one day, one choice, and one breath at a time you’ll be exactly where you want to be.
1. Start Small
Make your new habit so small that you do it with little to no effort.
Instead of reading one entire chapter of a book, start with reading one page each day.
2. Stack Habits Together
Pair your micro habit with something that you already do daily.
I immediately journal after reading in the mornings.
3. Keep It Manageable
Keep your micro habits as simple as possible. The simpler the habit the easier it will be for you to stay consistent.
Instead of exercising for an hour, do 20 jumping jacks which will take you less than 2 minutes.
4. Set Reminders
A tiny habit is pretty easy to forget, so you need to find a simple way to remind yourself to do it.
I keep my journal on my pillow at night so I can easily remember to journal in the morning.
If you wake up by your alarm clock in the mornings, you can set your alarm clock 5 minutes early to nudge you into the habit.
5. Celebrate Small Wins
Even when micro habits seem like they are taking more time to change your life it’s important for you to celebrate yourself for following through.
So the next time you complete one of your micro habits treat yourself to a relaxing break, sing a little celebratory song or do a little dance.
6. Track Your Progress
Keep a habit tracker to visually see how far you’ve come. Over time you will realize that your small consistent steps add up to lifelong habits that transform your life.
