This post is all about having a soft girl self-care Sunday
Reminder: Pin the post for later 📌
I’ll be honest, my Sundays used to be so hectic.
I would try to squeeze in everything I didn’t get to do during the week- responding to messages, or emails or even editing a post.
I would promise myself, “this is the last Sunday, I’ll be catching up”- next Sunday will be different.
I’m gonna lounge around in for a few more minutes, read my favorite book, slap on a mask and soak in a bubble bath.
But by the end of the day. I would do neither.
This went on for months until I realized I was just surviving everyday and doing the same thing every day of the week.
I needed a day dedicated to doing the good stuff for me.Â
A day where I can rest, recharge, and reconnect with my feminine side.
If you, too, are looking for a day like this, you’ve come to the right place!
Yes, you can take your Sundays back and turn them into a day where the world slows down for you.
A day where you permit yourself to step back, prioritize your peace, relax, and do less.Â
Your very own soft girl Sunday, where you surrender to softness, flow, and beauty.
Here’s to enjoying a light hearted Sunday starting with a slow morning in bed, lighting a candle to set the mood and journaling about your dreams, going outside for a walk and letting the sun kiss your skin, and pouring love back into yourself.
This post is all about having a soft girl self-care Sunday
What’s a soft girl’s self-care Sunday?
A soft girl self-care Sunday is a day dedicated to self care for your mind and body.
It’s a day for putting on soothing music, writing out a loving thought in your journal, or just going outside for a walk and listening to the birds chirp.
It’s your “me time” to rest, reflect, and rejuvenate to be your best self for the week ahead.
While self-care Sundays can look different for everyone, you can design your very own Sunday reset day where you embrace self-care rituals to give your body the love it needs to become the woman of our dreams.
Why you need a soft girl self-care Sunday routine?
You need a soft girl routine for many reasons of course but mostly for letting go of stress of the week and grounding yourself in your feminine energy.
During the week, our schedules can be so chaotic where we forget to give ourselves permission to pause and bring you back to the present.
A day dedicated to self-care, stillness, pleasure.
A day where take a long bubble bath, go outside for a walk, read a romantic novel or make yourself a nutritious breakfast.
How to make a soft girl self-care Sunday routine work for you?
A soft girl self care Sunday is more than mundane routine, which means it looks different for everyone.
Which also means that there is no wrong or right way to do it.
For me it’s lying in bed for an extra few hours and going for a walk in the evenings, and for you it might be skincare rituals or a thirty minute yoga session.
Whatever you decide to do on your soft girl self-care Sunday, it’s totally up to you.
However, if you’re needing a bit of a push start, here’s a simple plan to set it up.
1. Ask yourself: What makes me feel calm, soft, and cared for? And write down everything that comes to mind.
2. Create a gentle outline centered around morning, midday, and evening
3. Set the mood: light candles, put on soft music, and designate a cozy area
4. Let go and be: release the guilt of everything on your to do list. Give yourself permission to nap, lounge and just be.
5. Check in with yourself every hour: what do I feel like doing right now ( meditate, go for a walk, sip my tea, make myself a nutritious meal?) whatever your body feels in the moment.
6. Romanticize the small joys: rise slowly on the morning, make your bed, savor your breakfast slowly, or write a beautiful love letter to yourself.
The Ultimate Soft girl self-care Sunday routine
Morning: Start Slow
1. Wake up in softness
No rush, just you, cradled in your fresh, warm comforter.
Open your eyes gently while stretching your arms and let your body unfold like a flower.
Stay a few extra minutes in bed if you feel like it and breathe in the stillness before getting up.
This time is perfect to do a few minutes of slow, mindful breathing to center yourself before starting your day.
Personally, I love listening to self–love affirmations before getting out of bed.
Once I’m up, open my curtains, let the sun in and breathe in the fresh air.
This moment is all about peace and presence.
I even go as far to set a “no phone” rule for the first two hours of waking up.
2. Tidy up your space slowly
A clean space is like a love letter to your feminine energy.
It creates a safe, calm and sacred atmosphere for self care rituals and invites softness into your inner world.
One of the best things about tidying up your space is you’re not just organizing, but inviting new energy, flow and beauty to your home.
To get started, do not approach it like a chore.
Pick one tiny area and start slow, intentional cleaning.
Whether it’s your vanity or dresser, folding the laundry, or even organizing your bookshelf.
I love starting with my bed. Smoothing my sheets with my hands, fluffing my pillows, or gently folding my blanket.
Wherever you decide to start, make it a ritual.
Remember- “you don’t clean because you have to, but because you are worthy of clean energy and beauty.”
3. Do some gentle yoga, Pilates, or go for a walk
Dedicate a few minutes to calming your mind and setting the tone for the day.
Mondays through to Fridays are hectic for me.
Well, for most people, and I’m sure they are for you too.
A little yoga, Pilates, or a nature walk is perfect for freeing your body and resetting for the new week, especially if you’re usually tired before the weekend.
So get comfy in a cozy spot, do a quick 10-minute yoga or Pilates session.
I recently found this amazing beginner session for soft girls on YouTube.
You can even go for a short nature walk to unwind your thoughts and let the stress of the week go.
4. Put on some soft soulful music or listen to a podcast
A soft girl Sunday deserves a calming morning playlist.
One that resets your mood, soothes your soul, and bring you back to the present.
Whether it’s soft Jazz, acoustic melodies, or cozy piano, a gentle playlist can weave softness and stillness into your entire day.
My Sundays with music are my most soothing time with myself.
My playlist vibe for my soft girl self-care Sundays sounds like:
Sade- by your side
Cleo Sol- Sunshine
Daniel Caesar- blessed
Solange- cranes in the sky
My favorite podcast for my soft girl self-care Sundays:
Girls gone bible
The self-love fix- by Beatrice Kamau
To be magnetic by Lacy Phillips
Soft Life through Christ- by Tia and Toya
The feminine frequency podcast- by Amy Natalie
5. Make a cozy drink and a nourishing breakfast
There is nothing more that grounds you into the present than making yourself a cozy drink and breakfast.
I’m a matcha kind of girl, but whether you love coffee, hot chocolate, spiced chai, or chamomile, grab your favorite mug and let the stream rise while you savor the sweet, wholesome scent before gently sipping.
Now, prepare a healthy breakfast made to nourish your body with love.
Go for sweet and savory breakfast like warm oatmeal, cinnamon french toast, scrambled eggs, smoothies or a fresh fruit.
Grab your favorite bowl, spoon in your oatmeal or yogurt, add your fruits or toppings, and eat slowly, appreciating the savory flavor in every bite.
6. Write in your gratitude journal
A cozy, soft girl self-care Sunday is your gentle reminder of the small joys you missed throughout the week.
For me, during the week, I get so caught up in my to-do list that I constantly brush off the small wins that I normally would be proud of.
But on my soft girl self-care Sundays, I make gratitude journaling a ritual by taking a moment to breathe, soften, and just be.
I cozy up in my couch, light a candle to relax, and start writing slowly and intentionally.
Sometimes it’s three things I’m grateful for, and other times it’s an entire page.
Midday: Wind down
7. Do a little pamper routine for your hair, skin, and nails
This mini routine should take you around 35- 45 minutes.
Gather all your hair products, no need to wash your hair if it’s not your wash day. Start with massaging your oils into your scalp.
Now brush your hair slowly to ensure the oil is distributed throughout your roots and style your hair into a soft, effortless hairstyle like a low bun or a half up, half down.
For your skin ritual, start with gently cleansing and exfoliating your face, now layer with your favorite toner, serum, moisturizer and facial oil.
Last but not least is your mini nail ritual.
Now start by soaking your nails into some warm water, after 5 minutes dry them with a towel and moisturize your hands with a cuticle oil and apply soft polish- I love a soft pink or a clear glossy look for the clean girl aesthetic.
8. Grab a warm shower or a candlelit bubble bath
Grab your scented candles, exfoliater, face mask, and pamper yourself with love.
Go for a yummy body wash that has vanilla and coconut for a sweet and soothing scent.
If you decided on a candlelit bath, add some essential oils to help you relax and unwind.
When you’re all done moisturize your body with oil or lotion and don’t forget to put on your signature scent.
Dress up in cozy loungewear and watch a comforting movie. Your cozy girl self-care Sunday is a whole vibe, and you make your dress code.
So no need for heavy clothes, grab your satin robe or a cute pajama set and get cozy in front of a movie or TV show.
I love winding down on Sundays to a good animated cartoon, but if you’re more of a drama or rom-com girl, whatever genre you prefer is perfect for a cozy, soft girl Sunday.
9. Take a short nap
Treat yourself to a short nap; just an hour or two will do the trick.
A cozy short nap is perfect for resetting your mood and helping you to stay in flow.
To ease into your nap easily, grab a cozy warm blanket, your eye mask, a soft pillow, and find a cozy spot on either your bed or couch.
Evening: Soothe yourself
10. Meal prep for the week ahead
Making meals throughout the week is one thing I dread the most.
After a relaxing weekend, I’m back on the weekly grind, and I can never find the time to make delicious meals all day.
If your weeks are busy like mine, I’m sure you can relate.
After starting my Sunday meal prep ritual, I realize that not only do I have one less thing to do in the week, but also nourishing meals for the entire day.
My meal prep Sundays are all about making a week’s worth of healthy, nutritious meals that help me keep my energy throughout the day.
Here are a few Sunday meal prep ideas to start with:
- Overnight oats
- Smoothie packs
- Quinoa bowls
- Grilled chicken and tofu
- Wraps
- Soup jars
- Energy bars
- Fruits and veggie jars
- Meal bowls
- Chicken and rice meals
11. Do a light nighttime skincare routine
A Sunday night glowing skin ritual is perfect for ending the weekend with calm and beauty.
Begin by removing the day with warm water and a gentle cleanser, now start with a steam and deep glow treatment by putting your face over warm water with a bit of lavender oil.
Your pores will open and soften your face. Once done gently massage your toner, serum and moisturizer in an upward motion to relax your muscles.
 12. Cozy up in bed with a book
No phone or anything that will distract you.
Just you in your silk or cotton robe, cozied up with your favorite book, and read a few pages, or you can just lie in bed and enjoy the quiet.
This moment is your wind-down for the day.
So snuggle up under the covers if you feel like it and enjoy your own company.
Final thoughts on soft girl self-care Sundays
Soft girl Sundays are just long baths or skincare rituals.
It’s a time for deep self-love, unshakable peace, and effortless beauty.
It’s a soul-nourishing moment that reminds you that you are worthy of nurturing the most precious thing you have, and that is your body.
That’s right, you deserve to wrap yourself in a cozy comforter, savor something sweet, write your wildest wishes in your journal, or just nap a little longer.
So if no one has told you before, I’m telling you now.
You’re allowed to rest, slow down, and just have a soft reset.
So keep slowing down, keep choosing softness, and ease into your soft girl Sundays.
