This post is all about starting your inner work journey to become your dream woman.
What Is Inner Work, really?
“Inner Work Is Personal Development For You Mind, Body And Soul.”
Inner work is taking the time to slow down and reflect on who you are, how you think, and the patterns that shape your life.
It’s about understanding yourself on a deeper level so you can let go of what is holding you back and grow into the woman you truly want to become.
Think of it as doing the work on the inside so your life on the outside can begin to change.
The more you understand yourself, heal old patterns, and become intentional about your choices, the closer you move toward a life that feels peaceful, fulfilling, and aligned with your dream life.
Why Do Inner Work?
If you’ve ever tensed your shoulders when you felt uncomfortable, frozen during a confrontation, or felt your heart race when you sensed danger, you’ve experienced your body’s natural stress response.
Sometimes, these reactions can be connected to difficult experiences from childhood, past relationships, or other moments when you didn’t feel safe.
The truth is, we all have certain ways of thinking, behaving, and reacting that were shaped long before we became aware of them. Some came from our families and childhood experiences, while others came from relationships, society, and what we were taught a woman “should” be.
Inner work is about gently looking at that programming and asking yourself: What still feels true to me, and what am I ready to let go of?
It gives you the opportunity to understand your triggers, question old beliefs, become more aware of your patterns, and learn healthier ways to respond to your emotions.
Instead of continuing to live from old wounds and beliefs, you begin choosing who you want to become.
7 Inner Work Practices To Start Healing Old Wounds
1. Journaling
Next post to read: How to Fall in Love with Journaling.
Journaling is more than just putting words on a piece of paper. It is a powerful ritual that will help you to slow down to hear your inner thoughts and express your feelings.
You will unravel everything that affects you from the inside out and gain insight into your shadow self.
Some days you will discover an old wound you need to heal and other days you uncover a dream you’ve been too afraid to admit. As you write each day, every page will nudge you a little closer to understanding yourself and healing to change your life.
7 Healing Journal Prompts For Beginners:
- What emotions do I tend to hide or push down the most?
- How might they be showing up in other areas of my life?
- When was the last time I felt embarrassed, defensive, or irrationally angry? What part of me was trying to protect itself?
- How would I show up if my mind was wiped clean, if I didn’t have any trauma, limiting beliefs and emotions given to me by society or others?
- What parts of my childhood makes me happy and what parts of my childhood makes me sad?
- What am I afraid of if people find out about me?
- What would it look like to accept a part of myself I’ve always seen as “too much”?
- When did I first learn that being myself wasn’t safe, and how has that belief shaped my adult life?
2. Practice Affirmations
Affirmations give you a simple way to start challenging the inner dialogue.
Instead of waking up and thinking about what you messed up on yesterday or why you didn’t wake up on time today, you start to introduce a new way of seeing yourself in a new light.
You switch your dialogue to: “I get to start again today” and “My body deserve to rest a little longer in the morning”
You become more intentional and start speaking to yourself with compassion.
Here are a few feminine energy morning affirmations to start with:
“I trust my intuition and make decisions that aligns with my values and goals”
“I celebrate everyday through gratitude”
“My nervous system is resting”
“I am a powerful magnet for everything I desire”
“I get to create my dream life”
Read them when you wake up, write them in your journal, say them while getting ready, or place them somewhere you’ll naturally see them.
3. Keep Promises You Make To Yourself
“ A promise kept is trust coming to life.”
Promises are what builds our self trust and self confidence with ourselves.
Every-time you say you’re going to start or do something and you don’t follow through you weaken the trust you have with yourself which in turns lower your self confidence.
To break the cycle of distrust with yourself Start small.
If you tell yourself you’ll journal for five minutes, do five minutes. If you promise yourself you’ll go to bed earlier tonight, honor it.
Every small promise you keep becomes evidence you can count on you: “I can trust myself. When I say I’m going to show up for me, I do.
5. Speak Kindly To Yourself
If there is one habit that can noticeably improve the way you feel in just a few days, it’s the words you use to describe who you are.
When you speak to yourself with kindness, you not only build self trust but it’s you choosing to be the confident and nurturing woman your younger self always needed.
So when you wake up in the morning speak to yourself like you would talk to your best friend. Whether you want to just lie in bed or look at yourself in the mirror, start speaking to yourself with compassion.
“I’m proud of you.”
“I don’t have to have everything figured out today.”
“I am learning to become a safe place for myself.”
“I am allowed to take up space, have needs, and honor my boundaries.”
“I trust myself to learn, heal, and grow at my own pace.”
These simple words matter more than you know.
6. Listen To or Read Something That Uplifts You
Listening to spiritual podcast and reading a few pages of a self help book has become a natural part of my morning routine before I reach for or do anything else.
Instead of scrolling or getting lost in your thoughts in the morning, shift your mind gently into a wellness podcast episode or a book that wakes up your feminine energy and speaks to your soul.
Three podcast that to listen to in the morning to nourish your mind:
- The Fruitful Feminine By Alexis Smith
- On Purpose by Jay Shetty
- The Mel Robbin’s Podcast
Three Feminine energy books:
- Switch on Your Brain By Caroline Leaf
- Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinks Estes
- You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
7. Express Your Creativity
Start creating again by expressing yourself through writing, painting, dancing, music, decorating, crafting, or simply making something with your hands.
Whatever makes you feel alive. Simply express what you’re feeling inside without an agenda or anyone else’s expectations.
Just allow yourself to simply play and explore your feelings, interest, desires, curiosity and imagination.

I hope this guide reminded you that starting your inner work journey doesn’t mean you need to have everything figured out. It simply means you’re willing to slow down, look within, and become curious about the thoughts, beliefs, wounds, and patterns that have shaped who you are today.
Every journal entry, quiet reflection, boundary, and moment of self-awareness is an opportunity to understand yourself on a deeper level and intentionally choose the woman you want to become.
